Our Focus

Our Programs

Ending Violence Against girls and Women

We believe every girl and woman has the right to live free from violence, fear, and silence. Yet many still face abuse, exploitation, and systemic neglect. Our work goes beyond response, we focus on prevention, protection, and the power of women and girls to lead change.

From classrooms to communities, we challenge harmful norms, engage men and boys, and strengthen local protection systems. We strive at building a future where no girl sacrifices her safety for opportunity, and every woman rises with dignity and freedom.

Amplifying Women and Girls Voices

We focus on elevating the voice and visibility of women and girls not just in their communities, but on national and global platforms. Through storytelling, skill-sharing, and solidarity, we create spaces where women and girls can build collective power, challenge harmful norms, and reclaim narratives that have historically silenced them.

We foster safe, supportive environments where voices are not just heard but respected, amplified, and acted upon. Whether in rural villages or international forums, Imarisha Usawa stands as a bold flag bearer for the rights, dignity, and leadership of all women and girls.

Transformational development

A holistic approach that tackles inequality at its roots while unlocking the potential of women and youth to lead their own change. We invest in local leadership, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods, creating lasting solutions that go beyond short-term relief.

From skills training and enterprise development to community organizing and access to financial resources, our programs are designed to build resilience, and catalyze inclusive growth. By nurturing women and youthful leaders and strengthening community systems, we’re shaping a future where girls, women and youth don’t just survive but thrive.

Education

This area is anchored on the belief that education is not just a right but a pathway to dignity, opportunity, and lasting change. Through our Education support Program, we support highly vulnerable families by providing school fees at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

Going beyond access, we ensure students have the tools to thrive by also offering scholastic materials, dignity packs, mentorship, and career guidance. By combining financial support with emotional and academic empowerment, we’re not only keeping children, especially girls, in school, but nurturing a new generation of confident, skilled and purpose-driven leaders.

Health

At Imarisha Usawa, we empower adolescents girls, women and youth to access health information and services including sexual reproductive health rights, while strengthening county-level structures to ensure lasting, community-driven resilience and equitable access for all.
